Our stance Esbo Skytteförening has zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, and discrimination. All members must feel safe both on the shooting range and during club activities. Everyone is treated equally. Everyone is responsible for a safe atmosphere, and rule violations are addressed quickly. Every member should intervene in inappropriate behavior when they see it.
What constitutes inappropriate behavior? Examples include:
- Offensive comments or jargon.
- Ostracism or exclusion.
- Unwanted physical advances or sexual harassment.
- Repeated belittling, threatening, coercion, or humiliation.
- Inappropriate messages online or on social media.
- Deliberately reckless firearm handling to intimidate others.
Handling process
- Report: The affected person or a witness contacts the board esboskytte@esboskytte.fi or the safety representative mats.engblom@gmail.com.
- Receipt: The safety representative or chairperson confirms receipt of the report and initiates the case within 72 hours.
- Handling & Documentation: The board immediately holds separate conversations with the involved parties. The course of events and conversations are documented confidentially.
- Action: The board decides on an action (e.g., warning, temporary suspension, or expulsion).
Follow-up The safety representative (or a designated board member) is responsible for following up with the affected person after a period of time to ensure that a sense of safety has been fully restored.
